Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) has been included for the first time in the “Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2025”, developed by Times Higher Education (THE) in collaboration with the Schmidt Science Fellows organization. Among the 749 leading universities featured in the ranking, ASOIU has achieved a position in the 201-250 range.
Scoring between 42.6 and 45.4 out of 100, ASOIU stands out among Azerbaijani universities, ranking highest in the Processes category, with 83.3 points. This category evaluates infrastructure, management, and recognition mechanisms for supporting interdisciplinary research.
Azerbaijani Universities in the Top 500
ASOIU shares its place in the 201-250 range with Baku State University, while Azerbaijan Technical University is ranked 401-500.
ASOIU’s Results Across Key Categories
The rankings are based on three main criteria, with ASOIU achieving the following results:
- Resources: Funding and facilities dedicated to interdisciplinary research (19.2 points).
- Processes: Support structures, governance, and recognition mechanisms for interdisciplinary research (83.3 points).
- Outcomes: Publications, citation impact, and global reputation (40.3 points).
The Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Science ranking is the first rating system that measures universities' contributions to interdisciplinary science and evaluates cross-disciplinary collaboration in solving global challenges. ASOIU's high position in this ranking reflects the university's success in conducting research that bridges multiple scientific disciplines.
